Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...

Hi I am new and trying to force myself to start posting on this site as I think it would be good for me. I am currently struggling with health issues that originally started a little over 3 years ago and have continually worsened over time. I am completely isolated from the outside world due to my health and it has really caused me to become extremely lonely and depressed. I have family but they are all busy and some do not seem to understand the way it has made me where I can not work, can not afford a vehicle or drive, and not getting better. I am on oxygen, having neruological, digestive, urology and pulmonary issues.
I try not to let the medical problems bother me as the loneliness is the biggest problem. I was always very social and liked to go places and do things. Going from that to never leaving the house other than dr appointments or hospitals is the worst. I try to tell myself that I am not alone and there are many people that have way bigger problems than myself and to be thankful. It is the lack of regular human contact that is just so hard to deal with. My children do not understand and have been influenced by my ex-husband to believe that I am "not that bad off" plus they have their own lives and are busy which I completely understand.
The thing is that I was always very reserved about anything in my life that was not positive. It is hard for me to talk about my sadness as I feel pathetic and like I am a whiner if I do talk.
So I am making myself do this to hopefully connect with a few people and form some "online" friendships to see if it helps fill the void and help with the severe loneliness. I am also hoping others can give me tips on what they do to help with this as well.
Thank you for your time and to any of you that deal with loneliness I know how terribly sad and painful it is for you.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

GreenEyes727 - I have been waiting for SSDI for over 3 years which has done nothing but make my health worse. I might could have gone back to work if they had helped me then and found out why I keep getting sick daily. No I have no one to take me anywhere. As far as medications that I do have from hospitalizations etc are delivered to me as well as food, etc. I have savings that are dwindling fast and some family helps me some but not much.
billwfriend - I have a tender spot for people that are struggling with any addiction as I know that there are a lot of people that show zero compassion for others and can be judgmental. At this point I do not trust many people and is one reason why I was very skeptical to share anything online as I do not want anything I share to be used against me in any way. There are so many people out there that have taken advantage of my tendency to believe that there is good in everyone. It has bitten me in the ass more than once pardon my language.
I do puzzles and I as well like to follow true crime documentaries but I did not even like to watch tv before all of this started and it gets old to me very quickly. I want to be able to get out and be around others and accepting that is not the case currently hopefully not forever. I have my dog who brings me emotional support but i do need conversations.
Thank you for your time. Again it means more than you could possibly know.
that can't leave home. Maybe there are some
hobby or interest groups online you can join?
