my name is eric and i suffer alone. since 2001 i have had this unfullfilled dream of having my own wife and kids but this never happens for me because i long to be someone my potential wife can't live without, so much so that i have become an expert on how and why desire and love turn to loneliness and hate and sometimes find myself relishing the misery of those who have everything they want but still complain? as in" you putz, you sqwander the gift you have been given, where as i have every modern toy you can think of but nobody to love and have fun with" sometimes i wonder if there are men and women out there who feel as i do? if so i could use some friends to laugh with.

Hi Eric, since I don't know you personally, I am only going by what you wrote. So here is my opinion, if it's worth anything. Is it possible you have a perfectionist problem, wanting everything to be perfect and you also expect perfectionism out of others? If so, then I can see how women would pick up on that and not be too interested in being in a relationship. We tend to shy away from intense men. Maybe you don't even realize you're coming across that way?

Being in a group for loneliness shouldn't mean bumming because you don't have a girl who worships you. A man wanting complete devotion sounds pretty toxic & alarming to me. It also tells me you don't have realistic expectations. If you had what a satisfied men out there in committed relationships have, you would hate it.

You guys I realized recently that one person can't give me the attention I need not to feel empty, so please stop with this idyllic perfection wishing. You won't find someone or be happy in a relationship if that's the only person you have. You need to make some real friends or you will get jealous and lonely every time they see a friend or family which is just ugly so don't do that. I've had that done to me when I dated lonely men. Your significant other is your base or foundation but it's ok to branch your tree out and make friends. I'm thinking maybe that's even how other seem to so easily find a match, because of their friends network. I wish I had friends.

whoa settle down? i realize women are different and each one has something to offer, i am not saying i am perfect far from it, it is my imperfection that pushes me to be the best i can be, that way you women have what you hope for a full service guy you can depend on nothing more, the thing i scratch my head over is why in the name of everything good and holy does getting to the second or third date have to be based on a good vibe or feeling? if i did things like that nothing would get done and i wouldn't have as much fun? I'm reminded of what the character yoda said " do or do not, there is no try" or to put it in better terms " who dares wins".
