I have an elderly friend who has had up to 13 cats. She is the cat lady of her town. She barely can feed herself and the cats eat better then she does. She lives in a cold weather state and could not bury one cat that had died, in the winter. She put the cat in her freezer. She admitted two years later that the cat was still in her freezer. I asked her why? She said he was a pretty cat.
I hope you are able to get a second cat to fill the emptiness.
(((kitty hugs)))
yes, poor kat now outside 4ever, with his toy, next to his sister and mom cat.
"...barely can feed (self) and the cats eat better than (self) does..."
yeah, if I had a million dollars I'd probably live in some southern gothic falling apart mansion with a dozen cats.
a young enough woman who volunteers at the shelter, last time I talked to her in 2007, has TWENTY FIVE cats, and a couple kids, with the clichd piece of material nailed to the window, instead of real curtains/shades.
cats, more than dogs, brings out the crazy in people?
Are you saying us cat people are crazy? lol Do you think that is because dog people have to take their dog out and perhaps be more sociable because people seem friendlier to people with dogs?
Maybe there is a solution here for lonely people...get a dog.
Hang in there Penn...the hardest part is over. Kitty is at peace.
I know the routine of forcing yourself out and always being alone. I just wandered up to an Australia Day breakfast but it was all families and I knew I would not fit in so just walked past and back on home. Being so broke doesn't help. I'd love to be able to even go for a drive. Good on you for making an effort.
I have friend who is cat nut...I am not sure how many he has but know it is in 30s as he rescues them....he lives alone so no problem with too many cats...he lives rural so no problem with the cat authorities coming and saying he is hoarding...but he is....LOL
