Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...
I would have died for this friend, and he threw it back at me like it was nothing. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't hold a candle for this guy. Enjoy your memories, but don't live in them. If he ever comes back in your life, celebrate that, but don't wait for it. I could have saved myself so much pain if I'd done that. I understand how you feel, I know the pain of that loss, but you need to pull yourself together and move on from the past. Look back with affection, but get on with your life. You can't keep a space open for him, because you might turn away someone who would be the greatest connection you ever made, and you could also end up with just that. An empty space, with nobody to fill it. If he comes back, you'll find a way to slot him in, and your life will be more full because of it. But don't let it be empty without him. You're still young, there are so many more people that will touch your life yet.
only because i wanted to say- if you didnt laugh about your story of that guy- you would cry! and its better t laugh
better to laugh at how much you put people on this pedestal when they dont deserve it- he clearly was a bit different to how you rememeber him as- because he has no clue!!!!!!!!
he could have been polite and said nice to get in touch etc and then let it phase out on its own accord-
i have had a simliar experience lately- i tracked down an old friend on facebook- whom i remember as being a gem- we were very close and i loved her for who she is- we both did each other- when i tracked her down i said i had looked for her for ages on facebook and was s glad i found her.
she replied that she tried to find me on a other friend site but i wasnt on there. then i sent her a message telling her briefly about myself and where i was at now- it wasnt a long story but it did have some detail- and thats basically the last ive heard from her.
o she is busy- but if people visit facebook they cant be that busy. it made me feel like a jerk- its bad treatment because if i thought she was going to be like this i wouldnt ave sent her a message asking what she is up to now- i would ahve played it cool.
ve also put another post up here- or replied to someone else- saying how liberated i felt to delete my facebook account- because she wss on it and i would have to stomach her going on there and posting everyday about herself and her achievements which are better than mine (at the moment!) and id have to put up with er continued refusal to reply- I even casually said on her wall- i wrote her a message ad she hasnt replied- wold love to get a brief reply to hear what she is up to now- still no reply
i think when it s like that it has to be deliberate- why? i dont know
i know you may find it hard to believe- but other people have insecurities too and she may have done this deliberately- i dnt know why- but i do know that somepoeple like to hurt.
what does anyne else think on this- do sme people like to hurt?
beause i genuinely am not like that.
do they do it because they are hurting? and they want to make others hurt to? if so its the pits
or maybe some poeple are ignorant.
also briefly- i had a best friend for over ten years and we started going seperate ways like you do- but i said "wel alwas keep n touch though wont we? forever like- as weve been best friends for ten years" and we were like full on best friends- i was her friend when she was so uncool and nobody wanted to m now her- i brought her into the in crowd when she was uncool- and still stood by her- then she says, "I dont feel we have anything in common any more"
you know- i think about this- and i think also this is unnecessarikly hurtful thing to say- she could ahve said "yeah sure" and then continued to let it peter out like it was- but she had to say something obviously cutting.
maybe too she has her insecurities and it makes her feel better to hurt.
either way i still think its unnacceptable and i would never do it- even though its been done to me- even though you may get walked over in life i still want to try and be a good person and thats important to me- to other people though its not- people are different.
I just shrug it all off now- and have taught myself not to cling to poeple and to be fiercely independant- its the only way to be- because others seem to be like it.
I guess all I can do is hope for the best, and hope that we stay in touch. But remember that people come and go out of my life all the time.. I think im just feeling low cause I spent alot of time with him right up until the day he moved. He was one of the people I didnt want to really go though. I shouldnt dwell. I do have him on my Facebook, so i'll definetly make sure that I keep in touch with him. the first day he was gone he txted me saying he missed me, which put a smile on my face.
