my cat is getting around, had me scratch his ears, but his lungs sound bad.

gonna try nursing him back, yet again....but cant imagine letting this go on during a Saturday and sunday.

well today is Monday so that is a bunch of days before the weekend....I am sorry your vet was not able to see you...I do not believe he was being mean or cruel as you suggest...just working their normal days....and if it is emergency that you have this done there should be an animal emergency clinic open 24x7 that will cost you more than that frikkin vet you now have attitude against....

My 15 year old cat The Marshmallow came out of anesthesia from the teeth cleaning and his tube had quite a bit of mucous in it. That's not good. He was put on an antibiotic and I had to see the regular vet a while after the antibiotic was completely finished.

It turned out the antibiotic apparently did the trick and his lungs are now completely clear. But during the regular vet checkup, he had some allergy in his sinuses under his eyes so he was put on children's liquid benedryl (and there are many benedryls so I had to get the right type). That seems to have helped but he's not a fan of the taste of benedryl.

I posted on the other site, but I feel so bad for you and your buddy. Do you have to make an apt and will you be able to get there? I'm thinking you live in a small town for some reason. Is there a Humane Society available? I don't know what they do now, but way back when I was in my 20's I took a cat there because I couldn't afford a vet. The Vet let me stay. Things may be different now if that is even an option.

I got the pression the ppl.at the vet's were brusque. I don't know if you let 'em know your situation (they should have been kinder in tone . :(

Can you travel to another vet? Sounds like you want to go thru w your resolve and now. No harm in calling the shelter and seeing what they have to offer.

back in 2001, I was able to get a neighbor to take my dog about 15 miles away, to be put to sleep----cause with my hometown place I could hear my dying dog crying out, when the vet took him to be checked, with the vet coming back with scratches----maybe by picking my dying dog up from the neck, cause my dog was friendly to everybody.

I hate the idea of having to go back to this vet, but maybe i'll have to, or otherwise ask my landlord for another vet and a ride from them.

I did read up about benedryl, cause of what you wrote, but some cats have side effects, so that's scary.

my elderly cat actually started sneezing, when the other cat walked by him, so yesterday I gave the other cat a haircut.

I told the receptionist twice that I couldn't handle this if I had to wait longer---twice she asked the vet and zero response.

nobody to ask for a ride for an emergency; maybe my landlord, but don't want to ask them.

APO;OGY TO MY VET.

an hour ago to see and talk to morning secretary---she alwys nice.

paid for tueday trip---25 dollars, if I heard right. long wait for Tuesday, but still waitinf for miracle, and getting rieady...got 2 bags of topsoil from hardware store on next block.

gonna take an aspuirin; my hands ar going numb.
