When I was first divorced, I felt trapped. I tried to keep people at my house all the time. One fake friend brought half of Atlanta, a few at a time, to my house. When I told her that she and her friends couldn't sit in my driveway and get high -- a few feet from the cop car across the street, even though I was nice, that was it.
Have you ever thought about getting a motorcycle? That seems like fun. Dangerous, but fun.
I remember one woman from a Christian divorced group saying
that when she first got divorced, she didn't take one day at a time.
It was more like 1 hour at a time. And she always had a list of things to do - housework, projects, places to go, etc.
Eventually, you can reflect on your life. Hopefully, you lead a fulfilling life and have things you are passionate about and can focus on. If not, perhaps this is time to find your joy and passion in life. Then, if you meet someone new, they can be apart of your great life and you won't be looking for someone to give you fulfillment.
This is my challenge and I've been divorced for since 2006.
