Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...

My job is so boring. I have way too much down time and just sitting still at my job. I can't really get up and move around much because I have to be at my desk to assist customers when they come in.
I've tried asking other people I work with if they have anything for me to do/help with. I've asked multiple people multiple times to train me on various things but they always say they don't have anything extra for me to do or that I haven't been here long enough to train on such and such.
I worry what if my boss thinks I'm lazy? I work one of the busier jobs here, but I have never been able to milk a job to take more time. I'm fast and efficient, but I still feel like I have a lot of down time, just playing on my phone or reading books.
I guess I shouldn't complain. I get paid very well to sit on my ass all day and read books. It's just not very fulfilling ya know?

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
You have to deal with a lot of office politics at many companies. Basically that crab in a barrel mentality. Everyone is fighting to go higher and not wanting to share knowledge. That may not be the case at your job but I’ve seen and experienced it.
Is there anything that you desire to learn which would help if the person who performs it ever has to be out on an extended leave or unexpectedly?
I'm not sure what I should be learning or what they have planned for me. I have one sorta friend here who is nice and tells me things I should have been trained on. If it weren't for her I would be in trouble alot and look bad.
I guess I shouldn't drum up trouble for myself. My job is fine I guess. I have enough other stress in my life right now.
I think what brought on this feeling of unfulfillment is a friend of mine from culinary school sends me handwritten letters to where I work. He has landed a job and a brand new restaurant about 30 mins away. He sent me a menu and always giving me updates about the place.
It just makes me feel nostalgic. I miss the person I used to be. I even miss being a chef. I miss liking to cook and being passionate about something and always learning and trying new things. I miss bonding with other cooks over our common craft and feeling a part of something. I also miss being around other artists and drawing or painting together. After I graduated college I lost all that and now I work at a boring desk job because it's the best I can do. I'm stressed and tired and have too much responsibility at home. Maybe I shouldn't get on this site so much. I feel like I'm always complaining about something.
This morning I was telling my family about the new restaurant and how cool it sounded and how busy they are. I told them I wrote my friend that I hope they get more help soon so they can be open in the evening so I can visit.
My mom said he prob wants me to work there. She said it all snotty and rolled her eyes. I got mad and said well why not? I'm still a certified chef and my kitchen managers license doesn't need renewed until next year. I don't work in the evenings and if my boss approves it, I could get a second job and help out.
I get tired of my mom acting like I'm too stupid to have friends like they always have some ulterior motive.
Maybe I should get a second job. I wouldn't have time to sit and think so much.
