Life After Divorce Support Group
This community is dedicated to starting over after a divorce. With the marriage over, how do individuals begin a new chapter in their lives and what hurdles do they face? Divorce is often one of the most traumatic periods in a person's life. Studies show it is the second-most stressful event in life, after the death of a spouse.
Been dating for 10 months now and it has been going ok. The problem? I am sure it is one many people have who date an divorced person who has an ex spouse they share kids with: he caters to his ex wifes needs. She has had her own boyfriend now for over 1 1/2 years and she still calls my boyfriend for everything not related to the kids! I will be on the phone with him and I get "can I call you back _________ is calling..." I just hang up. 95% of the time it is nothing to do with the kids. What is with these people who feel the need to remain loyal to their ex when the marriage is over???? I feel second best to an ex wife!
Ex-husband=the girl was in high school when he re-entered THEY'RE LIVES. It was hurtful that she had a hold on him AND our bank account! It was like he had another wife! It hurt to hear them VISIT on the phone about old times NOT about the daughter. Ex also called TO SCOLD HIM. She scolded him for giving the daughter TOO MUCH money. She scolded him for letting her call boys at our place, we lived in another state. So it's like they are married all over again. He got scolded for not returned her calls IMMEDIATELY and I got blamed for NOT TELLING HIM WHEN I DID!!
I wish I had known prior what to expect, talk about it before it happens so he would know what I expect!
