Got married 40 years today. Hot, sunny day. Was late for the wedding 15 minutes late. When I saw him at the altar, he was not happy at all. Cold calculating eyes. I looked over to my late mother and she was crying and I said I do. I almost said, forget it. You go back to mommy. We went to Spain for our honeymoon. That is how long my marriage lasted. Two weeks. Then mommy dearest took over. Threw in the towel, divorced 17 years ago and have not looked back. Happy as a clam now. hehehe.  The reason I remembered today was my daughter said Happy Anniversary, really.  Kid go away. But out of all that horror and pain, I got two wonderful kids. They have not talked to him in years. I tried to keep that line of communication open, did not work. Backed off and went my own.  hehehe   For those that are starting out, you will be fine. Be gentle and caring with yourself. One day, you will find that you are smiling more, crying less.  There is a spring in your steps too.  Hugs
