Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
I need to stop this. I have hit rock bottom and can't continue like this.
I have ruined my life with lies and don't know what to do, who to tell, and where to begin. I don't even remeber all the lies I've told. How do you apologize to someone that you're pretty sure you've lied to but can't remeber what it was you lied about?
Oh yeah, I HATE asking for help. Good combination, a very stubburn liar.
Thanks and good luck.
At this moment I feel like I'm throwing up and I can't stop. That's how out of control I feel.
Right now I wish I could be in the company of others who share my problem. I need someone to cry with.
I'm afraid this group isn't too active - but we can support each other if you want. I've started keeping a journal, and even though no-one reads it, it still seems to be helpful for me to process stuff. You are welcome to read it, and I encourage you to keep one as well.
I, for one, am no longer looking at this as a surfacy, behavioural issue. I'm starting to believe that this is a deeper, personality issue driven by coping mechanisms developed early in life for me. I'm trying address this by doing more than simply saying I'm going to "stop lying". I'm trying to use the lies - or even just the impulse to lie as a roadmap to discover deeper problems and work on them.
