Just take one step at a time. I reserve eyeliner for very special occassions, but I do make sure I get the good stuff, becasue the cheap ones are hard and tear at the sensitive skin around your eyes and you don't get very good pigment any way. (clinique is my pick for eyeliner)I'm not a big fan of lipstick either. I do love smashbox's o lipgloss which changes shade to pick up the natural tint in your lips. I tend to kiss off lipstick way too easy and the longwear stuff dries my lips out. Just remember that you need to replace any eye makeup (especially mascara) after 6 months becasue of bacteria growth and the risk of eye infections. Oh and as soon as the nail polish starts to chip, take it off! Ther's nothing worse than chipped polish on pretty hands!lol Let me know if you need more "guidance"! Oh, I hope you're not changing for the new g/f that rarely ends well!
Maybeline mascara in the pink tube. Get black if you have dark hair or dark brown if you have any other coloring.
Clear and light lips glosses tube with a stick are real easy to apply and re-apply.
Eyeshadow? Not for me. Maybe for a fancy night out.
I like a translucent face powder instead of a foundation. It "evens" out my skin tone and can easily reapplied during the day if you are so inclined.
I make sure to darken and brsh my eyebrows up. Make sure they are plucked (get all the stray hairs outta there!) dont go reshapping them unless everyone tells you you should because they are too bushy. You can "comb" them up with your finger or with an eyebrow brush and if your eyebrows are blonde or light like mine are just take a natural light brown eyebrow pencil and fill in ont op of the hairs with the pencil.
I love clinique too and have an idea for you. go to a department store and go to the clinique counter and ask for some make up and skin care advise. Often thay will seat you and paint you up while telling you what they are doing, so you can learn a trick or two.
Keep in mind that you dont have to look "made-up" to wear and enjoy make-up. Natural colors that highlight, shimmer and make your eyes pop are really the sure bet.
Look in magazines for "looks" that you like and practice on yourself. forget the eyeline, it looks fake most of the time.
Have fun!

Ok we have covered eyeliner/mascara how about eyeshadow?? I know how to use it just not how to pick it. btw I am dark brown hair brown eyes olive skin.. I am 50% italian and look it.
Eyeshadow is very personal. Some people opt for bright, others opt for just beiges and hues of brown-pink.
I like a little of Clarins two-tone pressed powder and apply with a bushy brush on my cheek bones, t-zone and chin to give me colour.
I LOATHE mascara...so use eyeliner. I agree with getting clinique.
Now this is from many years past of make-up....I've worn makeup precisely twice in the last four years. And what I've worn is to lightly enhance...never to show, really.
Everytime I put on make-up these days I feel as if I'm in drag!! ROFL....both of my sons freak when they've seen me wearing it...they think I look odd!
Cheers All!
Is Kentucky never hot and humid? I wear skirts on days like that in order to get every scintilla of breeze I can get on this body. I'd leave NoLa for cooler, dryer weather, but I'm unemployable anywhere else.
As for make up, my friend Caro puts it on me before we go on stage, and I use cold cream when I get home. I can't see well enough to put it on myself.
Go to google video and search on "putting on make up". They have videos showing you how.
When I don't wear mascara, my kids think I am sick!
My girlfriends soft butch and she wears makeup to work...all natural colors.
