let me just say that im sorry its cold in the dating department. I just broke up with my partner last night . I believe in being friends first with who ever i date . im old fashioned that way . i like the dating part of it and the excitement of the chase. Most people would like a relationship instead of games and sex. and some people just like the single life without commitment . perhaps the kind of people or places your looking are just wrong. perhaps your approach is wrong with others only you can know that . instead of feeling defeated perhaps its time you enjoy self help books that show you that being with someone is not the only way you can be happy . dear friend you need to know your value and that another person is not what controls your happiness there a addition of joy to you when your happy already . i truly understand the desire of wanting to be loved and needed. that was the very reason i broke up with my partner. I still love her enough to let her go knowing she just needs counceling and help to love her self before she can extend that to another. i love my self to much not to be happy . so i lovingly let her go. with that said . dont give up on what you want . just evaluate your self and see what you can improve on yourself and your approach. think about if your hard to approach or to aggressive... usually i find when i struggle in a area i check my self first. im not saying its all your fault . im saying look where your hunting and how you handle your self. your a valuble lovable person. just try not to try so hard. keep your self busy and focus on what you do have thats great and love will come . when you see your value everyone else will too. good luck sweety. valarie
Why not just have friendships and learn to enjoy other people's company? It's also a time for you to learn and explore as well. It's amazing to be your age and in our times where in some states same sex couples can get married. I couldn't even imagine it being available when I was in my 20's.
My childhood friend started a glbtq student organization at our high school,it was ground breaking back then but now they're in many high schools. I couldn't imagine being able to go to the prom with the girl I liked back then but now there are proms for same sex couples. I'm in a mid sized city but it will get to the smaller cities eventually.
If any community places where other glbtq people gather try them and just savor being in your community. You'll meet sisters, lovers, friends and everything else in between but it will be a part of your life you'll remember for a long time.
Just relax and enjoy, love will come in its time. Good luck!
