My partner is a wonderful, loving woman, but she does dirty physical work. She comes home with filthy hands and fingers. Sometimes the fingers are injured. I have suggested that she wear work gloves, but she refuses. The thing is, I really don't want those fingers near me. She does "wash" her hands when she gets home, but that does not get rid of all the germs. I recently got a vaginal infection that I am sure was the result of dirty fingers. Does anyone else have this kind of issue? What would you suggest that I do?

have her use baking soda on her hands it works.

Thank you, ajr5679. I'll give that a try. I am worried not only about cosmetic appearance, but real germs. She handles some really nasty stuff. I'm sure the soda would help, though. So I hope I can convince her. Thanks again.

Baking soda is good, but you might also try keeping antibacterial soap at the sink where she washes up. You could also make it kind of a sweet little gesture and wash her hands yourself, scrubbing them gently with the soap and taking care of all the cuts and injuries. Kind of romantic, maybe?
