am i wrong for wanting loyalty and to be put first
ive been with my partner 6 years. in all that 6 years she has never put me first, she always put her sisters, mum, aunts etc before me . last year it got really bad ,i was in a really bad place mentally ,her sister rang wanting something and she was off and just said she was staying over that night . then her mum asked her to take some family members on a fly drive holiday as they couldnt drive ,this was for ten days,i was upset because i wasn't even invited. i'll try and keep this brief ok.
so basically if i wanted us to go anywhere she would tell me to go by myself, any of her family wanted her to go out with them and she said yes straight away.
so in january i had had enough i told her for our relationship to continue she had to start putting me first ,but i needed her to actually prove she could. that meant as well no more nights away. things was going fairly well until a few weeks ago when her mum asked if she was staying overnight when some of her family go and stay at a holiday camp. she said her families annual holiday was not included in our agreement,i said our agreement was no more nights away.
then i got a letter to give evidence in court the same week as this holiday, now she has planned to go over just for day visits where this holiday camp is is just a hour away. as soon as i said ok she could go over for 4 days but i need her at home after the court case as the police has already warned me things could kick off with the defendant(lives next door) she threw a hissy fit. now i was really hurt this was her chance to prove she could actually put me first. but me being in danger is less important to her than spending her time having fun and games with some of her family.
now here is the biggest problem she waited until her aunt came to visit then made out she had took a overdose ,she told us the next morning, but nothing rang true. she took 107 pills of her diabetes meds etc then said she vomited loads of pills up 3 to 3 and a half hours later so she was ok. yes she had been sick several times but she had eaten alot for her tea. she was due for a injection that morning she told the nurse she had overdosed blaming our relationship. the nurse sent her to hospital to get blood tests done. basically after blood tests and egc which was fine they said she could go home.
i did some research which said pills take 15 to 30 minutes to disslove in the stomach. i then checked the kitchen towels she had cleaned this pill laden vomit up with,no signs of any pills. i spoke to my doctor about my suspecions she said she agreed with me . so i explained all this to my partners mum who did believe me. but then i guess her mum rang my partners sister and for the first time in 6 years they both visit. i overheard them telling my partner to come and stay with them with people whom love and care about her. then they was having a go at me about various things etc. but my partner never defended me.after they went i told my partner i had overheard them but she again just defended them.
so my partners fake overdose had had the desired effect ,she wants to break our agreement at the first oppertunity because she wants to stay over night at this holiday etc and now shes got her family all fussing round her saying she should stay overnight etc etc because she is so low she tried killing herself. to fake a overdose shows just how desperate she is to break our agreement. her sister said when she heard my partner was "concentrating" on me she said how ridicolous. when i said to my partner about what she said when they had gone she said well she was right it is ridicolous.
yesterday her sister rang then straight after my partner was texting. i looked on her phone today texts between her and her sister have been deleted. so no doubt the pair of them was slagging me off as my partner never normally deletes texts and since she was texting shes been in a mood.
so i have all her family thinking i'm the bad one. but was i so wrong after 6 years of being put second everytime to ask to be put first from now on? she didnt have to agree she had a choice .
then earlier her mum sent me a facebook message how was we and she was looking forward to their holiday and their big family get together,i took that as just stirring knowing i'm already upset about it.
so is there a way forward? or do i tell my partner enough is enough.
