Jealousy typically refers to the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that occur when a person believes a valued relationship is being threatened by a rival. This rival may or may not know that he or she is perceived as a threat. If you or a loved one may have an issue with jealousy, this community is a good place to start exploring the issue and get support. We're here for...

I've had issues with jealousy ever since I can remember...even with close friends whom I care about. I just can't help it. I really feel like its a disease. I'm more in control now, but I don't think I will ever be completely rid of it :(
My really good friend for the past few years knows most about my jealousy problems and is very supportive to me, but I even have trouble not having these feelings toward her sometimes.
Most recent thing is, we've always talked about needing to lose weight and time and time again she has tried different things, diet and excercise (while I have given a few half-hearted attempts) Each time she has not gotten to her goals at all, but I've always admired her for trying and wished I could have that kind of motivation. Her main motivation is her husband (whom I really could care less for) always talking bad to her about her weight. Ever since they've been together he has had something to say to her about it...and she's not even that overweight to begin with!!! It makes me so upset...But anyways she has finally fond a routine that she's stuck to for weeks and is actually seeing results. I'm proud of her but at the same time ( in the back of my mind) am a little afraid of getting left in the dust. I know for sure that I'm just going to feel like shit even more once she looks so good and I will be the same old me. What makes it even worse is I feel this way even thiough she has an abusive husband for whom she is doing all this work for. I feel like such a shitty friend, I just wish I would grow up already!
I know the only way to do something is for yourself, you should really never rely on anyone else to make you do it.

88FWhat I do like is early morning clouds and then they disappear and the sun comes out. That was it's cooler in the morning. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...

I am going under a different name these days, i left and came back, depression has me in moods and stomping off, a bit like the jealousy lol! I was Emerald66 before and Mrs Ripley before that.
I'm glad your jealousy is better, more under control, but even "normal" (if i can use that term) pple feel a pinch of jealousy or insecurity at times, its just human nature.
Your so right, you should loose weight for yourself and not for a man who sounds like an ass!
Your not a shitty friend, your just human like the rest of us. If my friend for example won loads of money on the lottery, i'd be happy for her, but at the same time wish it was me! Who wouldn't?!
Do you have an event in the future where you will want to dress nice and your friend will also be there? Say thanksgiving or christmas or halloween?
Keep quiet about it so only you know, and try to firm up with any exercise you can do while changing your diet.
Your motivation is to reach that goal day and change your appearance into what will make you feel good.
Time doesnt stand still, 3 months will come whether you carry on as you are or whether you work at it and change yourself for you, you dont want to still be feeling this way in 3 months do you?
Good luck, its not easy but if it were easy you wouldnt appreciate it anyway
And unhappy lady, I really appreciate the advice. I think you're right, I just need to focus on my own thing and not broadcast it to the world because that often sets myself up for failure. Today I actually did do a couple workouts I found on YouTube! I was probably way off step but it did make me feel good, so that is kind of the point. For some reason I feel like I'm in a competition sometimes, ipeven with me closest peeps....it's ridiculous
Definitely tell no-one, you would be surprised how many people would want to sabotage your efforts to make themselves feel better.
Youtubes a great place to chop and change workouts...and free!
