HI Julia: My first go around with DE, they would only tell me the same thing -- she's doing great. I know that is not at all what you want to hear when going through this! They did not inform me with more info until after her retrieval. Who knows...maybe they don't want us to stress out more? (As if EVERYTHING involved isn't stressful!)

So, will her retrieval be next week? Wishing you all the best --- and hoping for lots of healthy eggs from your donor!

I got the "looks great... " and then "Better than her last cycle" but no real mubers until retrieval. Hopefully loads of eggs but remember.. it only takes one! :-)

Chris - her retrieval is Friday, in four days! I'm assuming she'll trigger tomorrow, Wed, night.

I asked to talk to the doctor since she's been MIA since I met her initially in Feb. I'm doing this remotely (live in Nor Cal, doctor in So Cal) and I want to make sure she's on the same page with my wants (ISCI, PGD for gender/downs only), etc.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't get a number!!

I got a rough estimate of follicles, but they were cautious to even do that. I don't know if its to manage expectations or what, but she ended up having way more eggs retrieved (18) than that initial follicle count (about 10).

My RE gave us an update everytime the donor went in. Even how many follicles there were. She said to remember that it could go up and not stress over the count. And they did retrieve more than they told us. So I was happy. I had to share mine so I only got 9 but only 6 of them were inseminated and only 3 made it to the transfer stage. I had 2 put in and 1 frozen. We are pregnant so that is great for us. So don't worry about the count. I was glad they told me but it stressed me more b/c all I could think of please don't go lower. One time the numbers were lower than the time before and it stressed me. My RE said not to worry some times if there are too many they don't keep counting after so many. Be patient as my DH would say.

We have our first u/s tomorrow to see how many we have. Alittle nervous.

I wish I had never gotten the numbers! I got a call each visit with an update. I was told she was responding great and had 21 follies. I was sooo excited. Then I got the call after retrieval. They retrieved 6 eggs. I was beyond devastated and convinced the whole cycle was going to fail. 4 made it after fertilization. We ended up transferring 3 because none were going to make it to freeze and I have my amazing son. But I really wish I had never ever heard 21 follies. I was so grateful to have some, but now I really wish we had some embies that made it to freeze. I know there is no guarantee but at least I would feel like I have a chance to give Holden a sibling.

Hi everyone! I just heard we got 29 eggs this morning! Tomorrow will be the fertilization report and then Wednesday is transfer (5 day, doing pgd for gender/downs, want a girl). We're doing half-eggs isci (the mature eggs, any immature we will do natural fertilization which could help some mature ones catch up and fertilize).

I'll post tomorrow with the fertilization report!

My RE's office gave me detailed information, but I'm the type that brings a notebook to most appointments to note everything, so they knew I'd want the data. I'd also been going to them for so long they were totally rooting for me and so ecstatic when I finally got my BFP!

I actually got 30 eggs the embryologist said and of those I have for sure 18 embryos and possibly 2 more (some weren't mature). So Monday they biopsy for PGD and Wed is transfer! I will transfer 2-3 girl embryos. I'm so happy to have started with so many since I want a girl. I'm thinking maybe 1-2 years later I could get a boy too....
