Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
As for the secondary comments, are you working with anyone or do you have someone who is helping you with your anxiety and depression? If you do, and you still feel guilty or notice the IBS issues are getting worse, please consider calling them. They may be able to help.
Best wishes, stay strong and always remember you are never alone.
I'm not really seeing anyone at the moment for the anxiety and depression it is just too exspensive. I have before, but not at the moment.
I suggest this, because that's what I ended up doing. I suffer from IBS-D, I was diagnosed over 20 years ago. I also suffer from depression and anxiety. In fact, I'm not sure what came first the IBS or the depression. Anyways, I have been on a lot of anti-depressants over the years. I just started a new one about a month ago, and it seems to help my diarhea too. It's called Pristiq. You can have a regular MD prescribe anti-depressants/anti-anxiety meds. I've been to Psychiatrists in the past, and I don't really click with them (plus my insurance won't pay for mental health).
I am an elementary school teacher, and no one is in the room with me, but 30 students, so I do know how you feel. The worse thing you can do is worry about it!!!!
Good luck to you, and BIG HUGS.
