Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
I use garlic infused olive oil to take the place of garlic, use a high quality brand such as Trader Joe's, don't buy a cheap brand that has not garlic odor when you open the bottle, just a waste of money.
Astifidia powder can take the place of onion, not perfect, but okay.
Low FODMAP people also can't tolerate onion and a whole load of other things.
Ginger is your friend though. Eating ginger will actually allow you to digest some other foods you might normally have issues with. (No idea why but that's how it works for me.)
I have never eaten Curry so can't give you advice there. I have heard that the green tops of garlic and onion are okay for Low-FODMAP'ers - but haven't tried that and am not sure that is accurate but you might look into it since the tops have a lot of flavor.
