Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.

I get nauseated from time to time too. It isn't as bad now and I am not totally sure if it is IBS or medication related. Either way, if it isn't overwhelming you or getting worse, try not to worry. If it does get worse, call the doctor and hopefully you will be able to sort it out together. Stay strong and best wishes always.

So sorry that your flower petals are under the weather. I sure can feel for you my friend. I have had fm and chronic fatigue and irritable for many years now, probably around 15+yrs. You were mentioning that you have alot of nausea with yours, well I have nausea basically 24/7 with mine. My ibs usually comes on bad when I am very stressed out or have eaten the wrong foods that bother me, like cream for coffee, or it can just give me an attack at any time it wants to!! The way I feel usually everyday is I get severe nausea (without vomitting) and I am told that this is due to my pain I have 24/7, from my fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, So it is part of the illness. What happens to me is that I get severe stomach pain where I am doubled over with severe pain and it goes right through to my low back and that feels broken, then I feel very nauseasted and have to go to the bathroom, where I am usually constipated!!! Very frustrating and painful, but other times I will have diarrhea. When this is happening I* have a medication that calms down my stomach and the pain within 10 minutes! The name of it is called modulon, I take 20mg when I need it and it usually is needed every other day, on the bottle though it says to take it 3x a day, but I hate taking any meds so I just take it when I absolutely need it. This may be the generic name for it so the other name on the RX bottle is called APO-TRIMEBUTINE 200mg. I find this to be the best for my flare ups from IBS than anything else I have ever tried. As, for the nausea I used to take just gravol over the counter and my Dr. told me that is not good for me to take that one often over the counter. so he has prescribed another gravol pill less harmful to me. The name of that is DOMPERIDONE MAL 1 mg. and I usually take 2 tablets maybe once a day also. This may also be the generic name for it also so I guess check it out with your Dr. But, all in all I don't enjoy feeling nauseated all day long and I am hardly able to eat at times from the nausea, but I do the best that I can. Anyway, I am very sorry for going on and on about this flowerA. I pray that maybe some information I have given to you can help you as much as it is helping me. I didn't notice if you have fm or chronic fatigue but if you have any other questions I would feel very happy to try and help you in any way that I can. Please feel free to talk to me anytime I can't work so I am home alot and it would be nice to chat with a friend sometime. Please take care and take from me whatever you need and toss the rest LOL I am just telling you from my experiences ok? Bye for now Susie

Yes, I get nauseated too, but if my IB is stress-related, I walk and drink and deep breathe, also Elavil 20mg has helped a lot, the doc thinks the nausea is related to upper bowel gas so the walking eventually helps to settle things down. Nausea has got to be one of the most uncomfortable problems. Hope your weight is not dropping. Prayers, isabelle 1954

Same here - I get that burning nausea, especially when the diarrhea is bad. It's awful. Bentyl seems to help if I get on it right away. I hate IBS . Hoping you feel better soon!
