Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.

ok first off the baileys cream would have me doubled up in pain and secondly the pie would also have me rolling around in agony !! fat and dairy are a big thing yes i would avoid and i actually dont eat them atall. the things that i have cut out my diet are dairy, red meat ( its an inflamatory - however i have jsut re introduced lamb every now and then and am ok with it) i have also cut out coffee, - there is a detailed list here... http://www.helpforibs.com/diet/trigger2.asp of things you should avoid - but dont fret there are loads of alternatives if you need any ideas ask me :O) would be happy to help xx im an old hand at it now lol

Do you eat differently at these particular times of the year? I have proven to myself that gastrointenstinal issues have everything to do with diet, lifestyle, stress, and stuffed emotions. For me, I can see the progression of symptoms. If I'm not eating carefully and/or I'm stressed for long periods of time; I'll first get bloated, then I'll hear a lot of gurgling, I'll have alternating bouts of diarrhea and constipation, sometimes more gross stuff, and then I'll get cramping and burning sensations. Good to write about it. I'm hoping it will help me get back to taking good care of myself. This is what works very well for me: avoiding gluten, dairy, sugar, corn, and anything else that I've noted gives me trouble, drinking half my body weight in water everyday(ie. 110lbs=55oz. water, getting to bed before 10pm and getting 8 hrs of sleep a day, and taking care of myself mentally and spiritually. I've had gastro. problems since the day I was born; it became obvious when I was 16 and progressed from there. I wish you good health.
