Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.

So my gastro consultant is still saying I have IBS even when I follow the diets and stick to foods I know I can have and still have flare ups.
Anyway last time I went to an app with him he told me I need an abdominal scan, a pelvic scan and a colonoscopy. I have already argued my reasons with him for not having the colonoscopy done the first time he requested it (a whole other story!) and was quite happy to have another abdominal scan to see whats going on inside.
So today I received my letter with the date of my app on! Well its next Saturday, not much notice, and I can't make it anyways because I am away at a wedding. And when reading this letter it says I am booked in for an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound scan and also a Transvaginal Scan?!
Anyone else had to have this procedure done for "IBS" ?! I have no clue what this has to do with my weightloss, my stomach pains (which by the way are above my belly button NOT by pevlis or private area)
Having looked this up most people are sent for this when they have abnormalities show up during smears etc, and to see how their reproductive organs are and the kidneys and bladder.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated as I am so confused why he wants me to have this test done. And a little nervous, never had a smear or a child so not had a healthcare proffessional invade/look/investigate down there before haha!

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
