Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
I haven.t heard of MiraLax. will look that up also.
My issues are constant D and bloating, never ending. Endless days of Imodium and diet change. I Have ended up in hospital not long ago but that when I was using a combinationof Imodium, cholestyramine and got off track with my diet!
always searching for normality. just even for a while, some relief!!!!
Kombucha? not heard of that..will check it out. I have used a mixture of natural and medical therapies over the years. the last year since my gall bladder out has been hell!
. Of course I start trying to drink hot chocolate and spices and get inflamed again or constipated.
I've been using it for over a week now, went to lunch on Friday and dinner last night...there was no cramping, no bloating and NO- D whatsoever......
I am so thrilled beyond words...I have used the slippery elm before..but kind of forgot about it....this is the first time in well over a year...I was able to go out and eat and not panic. I will be sticking to it and see how it continues to help.....I suggest to please check it out....you can find it in health food stores....and do your own online investigation.......I take it in the powder form....on (lactose free yogurt, with a banana or other fresh fruit. I sprinkle it over the top and then lightly mix it in. you can use it in a drink stirred, but I find that makes me feel a little too full in the stomach.
The slipper elm powder..coats the lining of your insides, creating like a healing poultice, it helps to heal any sore spots, it also swells inside giving bulk to help with the D, and for me who was taking up to 8- 10 Imodium a day!! it is working...
