Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
. Here are some things you may want to try.
1. Did you try to make a food Journal? You begin by eating individual foods writing down the foods you tried and see how they affect you. Try them at least three times. If they make the pain worse don't eat them. There are things that you're advised not to eat. No alcoholic drinks, no coffee, no butter or butter substitutes, no artificial sweeteners, no onions, no hot peppers, no cabbage, no carbonated beverages, no MSG or monosodium glutamate. Just to name a few. Some people can tolerate these foods others can't you might want to try them in your food journal first.
2. Eat smaller portioned meals and eat more often. For instance, instead of eating three normal portions eat six smaller meals.
3. Did you get your Dr. to test you for wheat and milk intolerances?
intolerance to wheat products and/or milk products can cause IBS. Milk intolerance is called lactose intolerance that's one test and the other test is the gluten intolerance test or wheat intolerance test. You could try going without eating things without gluten for the wheat intolerance. You can try drinking acidophilus milk, or Lactaid milk instead of regular milk. These are not the only causes of IBS some causes are unknown as of yet.
4. If none of those suggestions work he could try pureing all your foods or eating baby food for a little while and see how that works. To do this you need either a food processor or a really expensive super blender although don't do like I did buy a blender from an infomercial. Buy it from a store so you can see it or from Amazon on the Internet if you know what you're buying. I guess you could also eat soup.
5. My friend told me to drink pickle juice. You could try doing probiotics it's yogurt cultures in a pill form like a product called align its expense like $30 a box I am trying this now but its not helping me. You can try aloe vera juice I tried that for a while it doesn't help me anymore. Another friend told me to drink (Kefir) is similar to drinkable yogurt it has 10 cultures in it I tried this it makes me feel somewhat better. You can buy it at Giant grocery stores or health-food stores. You can try yogurts preferably yogurts with more than one culture in them. (If you have a milk and intolerance I'm not sure if you should eat yogurt) You can try eating Ginger and/or sugared ginger, note most ginger ale does not have ginger in it. Peppermint products, like peppermint hard candy (peppermint causes gas) peppermint is good for acid reflux usually not for IBS but you can try it peppermint tea also chamomile tea because warm things help with intestinal spasms.
You may after all this be cured of all your symptoms. If you want a solution these might be it!
This did work for me in the beginning somehow it came back and it doesn't work for me anymore. I try my best to try to find more solutions. If I find anything else I will e-mail you what I found.
PS Please treat yourself well you are a good person you deserve the best!
