Interstitial Cystitis (IC) Support Group

Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is a urinary bladder disease of unknown cause characterised by pelvic and intense bladder pain, urinary frequency (as often as every 10 minutes), and pain with urination. It is not unusual for patients to experience nocturia and pain with sexual intercourse. IC is also known as painful bladder syndrome (PBS), particularly outside of the USA.

I just started remicade for my RA and I think it flared u pmy ic, 8 day safter my treamtent it was the worst ic I have ever ever had. My dr thinks it is just a fluke but I have not had ic for so long.
ialso have been told to take folic acid cause i tkae mtx adn i heard that it bothers the baldder too,
any info would be great.

I don't have any advice, just a 'don't feel like the lone ranger' for you. My IC has been driving me crazy. I went to the hospital last week with pain so severe they thought I had a kidney stone. They said it was a kidney infection. Do you see a urologist for your IC? Mine was diagnosed by my ob/gyn during my hysterectomy. God bless, praying you find some relief!

I also have RA and IC, but I have not had treatment for the Ic because up until now the RA was so much worse.

I Just wondered which dr IC or RA, you asked about this? I think they both need to know this.
