Interstitial Cystitis (IC) Support Group
Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is a urinary bladder disease of unknown cause characterised by pelvic and intense bladder pain, urinary frequency (as often as every 10 minutes), and pain with urination. It is not unusual for patients to experience nocturia and pain with sexual intercourse. IC is also known as painful bladder syndrome (PBS), particularly outside of the USA.
I also put ice in my vagina to numb my urethra

can I buy Lidocaine Hydrochloride Jelly 2% urojets with out a prescription?
Thanks,
Love Holly
I lay on either my bed or the sofa with very loose cotton pants and a use a gel-icepack. It is molds and is way more comfortable than the hard ice pack and ice cubes forget about it.
It usually takes about a half hour before I start to feel some relief.
Unfortunately when you have other health problems that you have to take meds for it usually flares up the IC. Medication has lots of acid in them that cause inflammation in the body anywhere you have nerve damage and unfortunately this lovely syndrome cause nerve damage in your groin area.
You may still have the UTI...I have a very hard time getting rid of any infection because I think my body is becoming immune to antibiotics.
My IC reared it's ugly head a few weeks ago. I have also been itching beyond belief.....I am going to the doctors today and if they don't do something your gonna here me scream all the way from Boston....
Take care of you and listen to your body. If you need to rest just do it and apply ice.
Baths are really not good. They can cause UTI's and think about it....inflammation is like fire.....so hot water isn't putting that fire out. If the heat soothes you use a heating pad but go to ice when you need to get the pain under control.
Take care and any time you need to talk give me a scream.
Its an awful painful thing this interstitial Cystitis, I sure hope I can get a handle on it, its is wearing on my nerves, but I work very hard to be cheerful...
I will try the cold jell pack, and the Lidocaine Hydrochloride Jelly as soon as I can find it.
My doctor gave me a prescription for narcotics for the pain, but I dont want to take them cus of my copd, they depress the breathing.
You guys are great to help me, I am really suffering, and I am so very sorry you all have been and are suffering too.
Love to all of you with great thanks,
Love
Holly
