Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is a urinary bladder disease of unknown cause characterised by pelvic and intense bladder pain, urinary frequency (as often as every 10 minutes), and pain with urination. It is not unusual for patients to experience nocturia and pain with sexual intercourse. IC is also known as painful bladder syndrome (PBS), particularly outside of the USA.

Food narrowing...

Hi everyone,

This past month and a half the foods that I can eat are becoming narrower and narrower. Things I used to have no problem with are now unbearable. I'm getting really frustrated. Has anyone had this happen to them? Considering we can already only eat so little... this is pretty horrible. Please let me know. Thank you.

me too. Im a vegetarian. I am not able to eat any fruit now but apples, which I dont like. No one has any answers. It is hard to just eliminate everything from your diet. I havent tried the pre aid. I am in the midst of such a bad flare. I have to take Vicodin every day which just makes me sleep all day.

Aww I'm sorry to hear you're in a flare. That sucks. I'm a vegetarian too though I do occasionally eat organic line-fished tuna and/or shrimp. By pre aid do you mean prelief? If you haven't tried that you really should... my diet would be even more limited than it is right now if it wasn't for prelief. I just don't know if this narrowing is normal and everyone goes through it or what... I hope it stops cutting down my safe foods soon...

Hi Ladies,

I totally agree. I used to be able to have a soda once in awhile or a slice of pizza but have noticed that I can't eat or drink these anymore. I do feel like my food list is narrower also. I try to eat fresh fruits and veggies but sometimes, I really miss my junk food! :) Donna, I'm so sorry that you are having a bad flare. I am having one also and have been taking Vicodin too. I hope that your week gets better and that you feel better soon. Take care.
