Interstitial Cystitis (IC) Support Group
Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is a urinary bladder disease of unknown cause characterised by pelvic and intense bladder pain, urinary frequency (as often as every 10 minutes), and pain with urination. It is not unusual for patients to experience nocturia and pain with sexual intercourse. IC is also known as painful bladder syndrome (PBS), particularly outside of the USA.
Tonight is not a very good night. I have been having really bad pressure and pain in my lower abdominal area, they feel like menstrual cramps, but they're not. I think I have yet another bladder infection. I'm not sure though because usually I have burning and urgency, maybe I lucked out on that part this time. I just feel crappy like I usually do when I get an infection. The sucky part is, I have to work all day so I won't be able to make an appointment. I'm hoping if I call the doctor they'll just call in a prescription since they know me pretty well up there, I'm in all the time for bladder infections. I've tried everything, ibuprofen and Azo, nothin is helping!! I have never had this before. My IC is fairly mild so I feel for everyone that has this all the time. Ugh..I hope I feel better soon!!
Also look up diaphramatc breathing. I do this 15-20 min. several times each day. It helps with anxiety, pain and relaxing the abdominal muscles.
Follow the Ic diet... alkaline not acidic.
