The man of my dreams that I thought of as the world to me, the man that I shared so much with, the man that I so loved more than any other man ever before, is no longer my man. I ended it and kicked him out for unacceptable behavior last night. I don't even know where to start as to what happened last night. It's just a shock to me. And I don't think that race has anything to do with it. Not this problem!
This is a matter of running from reality and being in denial. This is a matter of lying to one's self and alcohol being the evil. This is beyond my control and his problems are now between him and God. I don't think I have any other choice but to step back and leave it to the man upstairs.
Do you think all the mentioned above is race related? Tell me if I'm wrong.

I'm not sure what the problem was, so I sure can't comment on whether it was race related.

You imply there were problems between him and alcohol. When you put it that way, there's no doubt that it's not race-related, is there?

alcohol was becoming more and more "needed". Friday night we got into a huge fight and physical violence erupted. i'm am torn to pieces over what has happened.

Ugh. I'm sorry to hear about the violence. I hope that served as a wake up call to your boyfriend/ex-boyfriend, but it doesn't sound like it did. That's awful.

If there is violence in a relationship, then it is not a healthy one. Race has nothing to do with it.

I hope that your decision is based on a thorough analysis and that you will stand by whatever you decide. It sucks I know. Goodluck!!!

I tried to set up so that we go to counseling together, but I think it is wasting my time. He can't make up his mind about it, and I'm sick of the mood swings. one day is fine with me the next mad at me.
Somehow in his head i'm always the bad guy. It don't matter what I do. At this point I really think that he is wrestling with his own demons.

Well we had a good long talk about things and his "odd" behavior was a result of his combat "issues". And being that i'm a vet, I understand. We decided to seek counseling together and today he has come to my pain management support group with me at the VA today. He said that he will participate in the group every week for now and for the next 9 weeks. I am also in the process of setting up anger management one on one that he will participate in with me as well.

Alcohol and violence are not issues of race; they are issues of choices. Sounds like your boyfriend or ex-boyfriend obviously made poor choices.
