I can understand that you don't want to ruin the progress made, but 10 years down the line you don't want to have regrets that you didn't marry the man that you love all because you wanted to please your family
I cannot begin to understand the frustration you must feel with making this decision. My offer of advice is to have an honest talk with your father, since he appears to be a big part of your life. I would have a heart-to-heart with him regarding the other man you love - your boyfriend - and share the positives about him. Perhaps he is just focusing on the negatives, and sharing what makes his little girl happy could be just the thing to open his eyes to your boyfriend. Before doing this though, I would be sure that you and your boyfriend are ready for such a commitment. It may even get worse with your family before it gets better - so knowing that you both are in it for the long haul, I personally feel is just as critical as talking with your father.
I wish you the best no matter what you decide to do,
