You are at a fork in the road and must make a difficult choice. I choose my boyfriend now husband. My family shunned me and dont have anything to do with me. They will talk to me but I am never invited to family functions. My marriage is rocky and I have no one to turn to for support or advice. Good Luck to you!! You can not let your family run your life. I agree, there comes a point in our lives when we have to become adults. For many of us that is when we leave home, do college and venture out into the world on our own. For others it comes when we have to make the hard choice between the person we love and our family. I am NOT a christian but there is someting in the bible that I do agree with very strongly. Not sure how it is worded but in effect it says that when you marry, when you make that commitment to another to spend your lives together you must leave your parents and become one with that person.
To many times I've seen where one partner or the other will let family come between them on many issues and it is a rare marriage that can withstand that kind of thing.
I know when my neice married a black man my uncle disowned her. He wouldn't talk to her again UNTIL she had a baby boy, his first male grandchild and then he had to break the ice. I don't know if he would have done that if both his sons had not been killed in a traffic accident. I would like to think he would but prejudice is one of those strange hateful things you can never be sure of.

You have 2 choices. You can either be with your boyfriend or be with your family. From what you are saying you can not have both. If you do not want to lose your family. Then you would need to give your boyfriend up. (((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))
