spent day on internet....yet again

I keep on throwing away the $2, 25 foot, internet cord that goes from my kitichen to my living room. But today, as I've done a few times before, I hooked up my 6 foot phone cord, and sat on the kitchen flloor with my computer.

Not as if I have a tv, car, friends, family, job, or a life. I do have two cats I should spend time with.

And, at least I spent 3 (?) hours checking out the groups on this site: I could probably join about a dozen of them.

Tomorrow, hopefully, no internet for a few days; watch dvds on the computer instead, and get stuff done. Friday or Sunday, hopefully, the earliest for another $2 cord (the cashier at the dollar store probably wonders why that's the only thing I buy there).

Threw away the phone cord i used yesterday, and today bought another $2 internet cord.

At least I was off the internet for about 24 hours, though 8 hours of that was sleeping. And I had to bicycle 2 miles to get another cord; good exercise.

As much as Im sure you're struggling with this and addiction is not funny, your story of buying new cords that frequently was pretty hilarious. I think maybe it's time for a new strategy? Haha.

8 oclock tonight to DEFINATELY throw away my cord....buy a new $2 one friday.

tried staying off at number times today, including wrapping the cord up to put it away, no good----cold turkey.

and i keep on buying cheap, used, dvds off ebay/amazon to watch---though all i do is fast forward through them; have dozens of dvds to actually sit down to watch....though i have excuse that my elderly cat lays in my chair all day.;)

used my curly cord from plug-in phone, to hook up the internet for a few hours today, with monitor, tower, and me on kitchen floor.

yesterday threw away my curly phone cord was using for internet; today got another internet cord---though at least it got me out biking

bought new cord on thursday....today, sunday, at 830 at night to throw away still another.

new cord either wed or friday---hopefully no earlier.

last night hooked up 4? inch leftover phone cord, to sit on kitchen floor and at apt door, for internet.

maybe being stuck on kitchen floor/near door will slow me down a bit.

Have you tried maybe forcing yourself to spend a few hours away from the internet rather than trying to stay off of it for days? If you get into the habit of taking an hour or so to step away then eventually you'll get used to it and you can up it to 2 hours, then 3 hours, ect. You could take all that money you spend on new cords and put it toward a class of some kind to keep you occupied for the hour or use it to visit a museum or sign up for a gym or something. Even go out and grab a bite to eat or something! If your strategy is working for you then don't let me stop you, but does it really seem like something you can afford to keep up for the long haul?

hi, vonni,

i've gotten used to sitting on the kitchen floor for a couple hours with the computer hooked up to four inch phone cord....then i unplug in order to watch dvds in living room on computer.

without a bicycle right now, so at least that's stopping me from buying another two dollar cord at mall 2 miles away; not in a walking mood.
