If you fall asleep, I suggest that the feeling you have just prior to nodding off, whatever it is, could be considered "tired", for you.
For many of us, these are very obvious signs, such as droopy eyelids, yawning, wandering mind, and so forth. Maybe you don't get these kinds of signs, I don't know. But the feeling you do have before sleep, whatever it is, maybe that's what tired is for you.
I encourage you to continue address those underlying root causes ... through stress management methods and counseling. There are effective ways to treat these issues.
