When I did the sleep restriction, I learned how long to sleep to produce a good night without having a negative impact on the next night. The advice to get 7 or 8 hours of sleep doesn't work well for everyone.
I have had to do something like this for a while, because I work nights and swing over to days when I am off to be with family and friends. I have also found it tends to let me sleep very well the nights I didn't get a full night sleep the day before, and I hope you continue to do well on it. On occasion, I found it can make it hard to sleep on days I normally do, because my body gets used to the idea that staying up extended periods is okay, but as long as I don't stress over that, it tends to go back to working well after one rough night. I wish you the best of luck in applying something similar in your own effort to overcome this obstacle in your life.
