If you're not already doing so, I would suggest trying to keep a consistent sleep schedule, particularly a consistent wake up time, and see how you do. If the daytime tiredness doesn't go away or gets worse, that could be a symptom of sleep apnea, and worth mentioning to your doc.

So, you have to sleep longer than usual to repay your sleep debt.
The best way to repay your sleep debt is to not use an alarm clock and wake up naturally. Also, be sure to do 10-12 hours (even if you happen to wake up after 6-8hrs) In a few weeks, you should go back to normal.
