I am one of those people who have tried EVERYTHING. Been having severe and chronic insomnia for 3 years now. Going days with no sleep and then when I did sleep only an hour or two a night. This went on for months and months and months and months. Now I am finally getting about 5 1/2hrs solid sleep more nights a week than not. The program can work quickly (4wks) for you or may take longer like it is me. But it has been a life saver!
Based on what you said, the anxiety and insomnia is a new thing and if Xanax is helping, and you are taking it responsibly, I see nothing wrong with it if as long as you are taking it as your doctor recommends. As you get used to sleeping, be mindful of weening yourself off Xanax. One step at a time, though. For now, you're going through a hard time and Xanax might be the perfect short-term fix until you get back on a regular sleeping schedule.

As others have mentioned, be very careful with Xanax. With your three pills a day you're at 1.5mg? Please be aware that anything from that dosage can get addictive within a period of months.
