Insomnia is a symptom, rather than a disease, and is characterized by inadequate quantity or quality of sleep. People with insomnia complain of difficulty falling or staying asleep, which results in significant impairment of daytime functioning. Insomnia is categorized as transient (shorter than one week), short-term (one to three weeks) or chronic (longer than three...

I did sleep the other night after I had been up allnight the night before even though I didn't feel tired:) I remember thinking, upon wakeing, that I was dreaming, perhaps thinking the only thing I was doing is dreaming, but then I discovered it was about 4 hours I had been sleeping for. I remember waking up one other time before that. Anyway, although I can never be totally sure, here is my take on what has happened to me to make me wide awake. I was having an exremely stressful time when this all started. I had no money, was looking for a job and wasn't even getting any interviews and my dad was on me all the time about having no job, as mentioned before. Previous to this, though, I was worried during the day about the above issues, but I could turn my brain off so I could sleep when I wanted to. Then suddenly ,during all of this stress, I was wide awake all of the time. I slept less and less during the course of a week, until I was wide awake and barely sleeping by the end of the week. I didn't even worry when I was trying to sleep. I didn't spend my time worrying, I spent my time at night trying to sleep, even though I wasn't tired at all and barely sleeping as a result. Somewhere along the way I started to worry about and dwell on the fact that I am wide awake. As I've already mentioned, I am having an extremely stressful time still in addition to feeling wide awake, but I worry about being wide awake a lot more than I worry about all of the other issues. Did all of the original stress and worry make me feel wide awake suddenly, although no one can be completely sure, and I didn't worry about these things when I was trying to sleep, I just layed there trying to sleep, even though I wasn't the least bit tired, as mentioned? Is the worry about being so wide awake causing me to be wide awake? Many members have mentioned that I am so wide awake because I'm so anxious about being so wide awake. They have told me that I ought to try not worrying so much and then perhaps I won't feel so wide awake anymore. They have suggested I do things to distract myself and try not to think about this as much, although that is much easier said than done. Another member has told me about supplements to try that have helped him because he also had lost the ability to feel tired and the supplements had helped him. I plan on trying the supplements, but am worried they won't help me the way they helped him. I won't know what to do if they don't help me. I know I can't overcome the sleeping issues if I never feel tired. In addition to worrying about never feeling tired, I have goten angry about feeling wide awake. I feel like a freak and abnormal. I know that doesn't help the issue any. I need to be able to have high enough adenosine levels again, as one member has mentioned. I don't know if the other members know what adenosine is, but at high enough levels adenosine causes tiredness and my levels are obviously extremely low. Will not worrying about feeling so wide awake perhaps cause it so I don't feel so wide awake, although I still have many other sources of stress in my life?I have no money, no job, I don't know if I will ever be able to support myself because I have had such a hard time keeping and getting a job, I'm lonely, etc, as already mentioned. I am worried about not being able to do another job and I have discovered that I am extremely worried about moving out, athough I don't know if I'll ever be able to. I have never been out of my parent's home and I'm worried that I'll miss the dog and cat if I can ever afford to move out. I know that there are others who have gone through the same thing and they have recovered. I just hope I can recover also, but am worried that I won't ever recover. There are also others on here who are going through the same thing. I do feel comforted in the fact that others have recovered from this and that there are others who are going through the same thing. I know that I am atleast not all alone in this. Should I be sure that if others have overcome this, that I can also overcome this? I am not in counseling at the current time because I don't have any insurance and I have not been able to find a good match. I do attend a group once a week currently.
It's hard to recover without supplements but you can do it since you don't have a job and you're not doing anything.
All you have to do is eat normally and then lay in bed or on the couch and close your eyes and don't move.
Do that for two weeks and I guarantee, you will feel a difference.
What that does is, it slows down your system from continuously burning up your vital nutrients and it allows your system to naturally recover on its own.
I guess you haven't tried it since I told you months ago and you're still in pain.
When I had my insomnia, I told those fkers I don't have an anxiety problem when they told me I needed to get my anxiety under control.
That's because the anxiety was not caused by me. It was caused by the lack of GABA. Those fckers, wanted to put me on anti anxiety drugs because it makes billions of dollars for them.
So I told them that they can kiss my ass. Then I found that l-glutamin + vitamin b complex is what your brain needs in order to create GABA.
15 minutes after 500mg of l-glutamin and b complex and I felt normal again, blood went in to my arms and legs and I could feel the warmth.
So anytime I hear "control your anxiety", I say BS.
The glutamin gets depleted due to stress. Depleted glutamin = depleted GABA = anxiety since GABA is an inhibitor.
If we experience stress for long enough and to a high enough degree we will eventually cross and invisible line and because symptomatic. This is true in your case. You may have had stress and anxiety before and was able to sleep but you crossed a threshold where it just became to much for you to handle and that led to trouble sleeping. And of course the more you focused on your sleep the worse it got. I think you understand why it happened and what needs to be done about it, you just have to put it into practice and then just be patient and let time pass until things return to normal.
Let's just say that your body is able to produce 10% Ribose in any given day but you are demanding 15%. So every day, you're out 5%. and it starts collecting -5% everyday. Pretty soon, things are going to get worse.
If you go lay down and don't move and stop thinking (thinking burns ribose), you hope to continue to produce 10% but burn only 5%. That way, you get +5% every day. Pretty soon, thins are going to get better.
Why would you need to take Ribose then? Well, if you're producing only 10% a day and demand 15%, then you need to supplement what your system didn't produce. That's why they call it supplements! Again (10%(naturally made) + 10%(capsule form)) - 15% (daily demand) = +5% surplus.
where did the surplus go? it got stored so that when your demand for ribose on any given day exceeds what you can produce, the surplus is burned.
