Sometimes people with brain health disorders such as bipolar disorder get to where they aren't sleeping or their meds need to be tweaked. And sleeping pills don't always work long term. But the study of the brain is showing there can be other issues related to this. Have you had a sleep study done?
If those underlying roots aren't medical, pills won't help. For those -- typically some nonmed combo of bad sleep habits and excessive worry about sleep -- the standard of care is use of a CBT sleep training system.
