I've stayed very busy reading these books since my wife revealed her first affair. Each one is exceptional in it's own way.

Getting the Love You Want, Harville Hendrix, expains Imago Therapy. In my opinion, the best therapy to stay married and effectively communicate with your spouse. It saved my marriage.

Not "Just Friends", Shirley Glass, This one is like the Bible on infidelity.

After the Affair, Janis Spring

Anger Management for Dummies, Gentry Doyle, I needed to fix my issues to make our marriage work.

Codependent No More, Melody Beattie, The Bible for understanding codependancy. Her follow-up book didn't appeal to me.

Fighting for Your Marriage, Howard Markman, Enjoyed this one.

The Five Love Languages, This one explains how to properly communicate with your spouse. Most of us get it wrong.

The Four Agreements, Don Miguel Ruiz, Short and sweet. You can read this one in a few hours. Explains how you can be in control of your thoughts and live a great life.

His Needs, Her Needs: Building an Affair Proof Marriage, Willard Harley, Probably amongst the best affair books. Explains with good examples, how affairs begin.

Sexual Infidelity-Overcoming Your Hurt, Patrick Goonan

When Good People Have Affairs, Mira Kirshenbaum

I also read Dr. Frank Gunzburg's material, which I found on the web. There was no great revelations there that was worth the money. You can get basically the same info from the books in my list prior to this post.

I also read an e-book by Tigress Luv, called Why Wifes Cheat, Understanding the Answers Behind Women's Infidelity. She is not a therapist, so it's written from a layperson's perspective. She was a cheater.

The Five Love Languages by Chapman, has really helped my wife and I to communicate better and to realize that what made me feel loved the most wasn't necessarily what made her feel loved the most. We are closer now, than we have been for the last several years.

I definitely agree on the His Needs Her Needs book by Willard Harley. I really like his concepts and before my H cheated on me, it was my every intention to better our marriage using his concepts. Maybe I should have read his other book 'Building an Affair Proof Marriage'... (I know, not the most tasteful joke... just my anger speaking.) Anyway, he has a website...
