if so, do any BSs have real answers?
she has asked multiple times over the last 24 months, what i need from her for my recovery... and i tell her, ;
"i have no idea what i need from you".
many times i would tell her "i want NOTHING from you"
other times i would tell her "my needs aren't your problem. I'm an adult and i can take care of myself"
last night, i finally was able to articulate my needs or want, or at least my thoughts
i told her i need her to convince me that she is telling the truth and that she is trustworthy.
she asked me, how does she do that?
i told her , i dont know, but i dont feel or see anything from you to help convince me. all i hear is the occasional "yes, of course I'm sorry that i did that and I'm not that person anymore and I'm working on being a better person" ...but i just dont see it...or i dont believe it ..or i dont allow myself to believe it.
i dont even know if what i articulated qualifies as a need. sometimes i hate my brain!
Has she told you everything that happened two years ago, and is she doing anything that causes you to trigger? In my experience, triggers annihilate trust, and even one missing piece of the puzzle, can lock you out. We then blame ourselves for it, thinking it must be us and our anger, when in reality, the key to unlocking it lies in those few missing pieces of the puzzle, that don't quite fit.
Don't hate your brain, listen to it, and let it guide you, because your brain is just reacting to the environment around you, and alerting you to something.
