Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
He already said this started 7 years ago, during the worst year of his life. He said "Then the work i do get at home is 72 days straight of 12 hour days doing the tornado clean up in joplin. Listening and seeing all that horror. " Instead of trying to be supportive of him, she chose to focus on her own needs.
That alone is all I need to know to suspect she is not quite capable of empathizing with her husband's needs. The fact that when it came to light, she called to 'warn' him is telling. That would be the final loyalty test in my book. One that she failed. I agree with other people who say this is indicative of a long term, possibly off again/on again affair. It is not reasonable for to have been face-to-face and lonely and feeling neglected and limiting herself to a few kisses. That story simply does not ring true to me.
I'd really think about the situation, pull some call logs and not take a proven liar at face value. Sorry, but liars minimize and sugarcoat things. They lie to themselves first and that makes it easy to lie to others.
Give her an ultimatum perhaps who she wants to be with
Here you have a guy who is betrayed by his wife and further lied to afterwards. She breaks his heart and betrays her husband and family.
You are worried about how her needs are being met? The crime was committed against him.
First it isn't an issue of needs being met or not. Even if it was, it is the wife's perspective of her needs being met that is the issue.
In any case someone who is spending most of her energy and mind taking care of her own needs I doubt she has much left for her family.
Affairs happen due to character and moral weakness, as well as a poor ability to love. Affairs are not circumstantial even though you would like to shift the blame onto a situation rather than yourself.
A murderer or rapist does not commit the crime due to opportunity or need. Certainly opportunity and circumstance can make it easier, but to say that everyone with opportunity would do this is taking choice, free will, and moral integrity out of the picture.
Those who can not fully take account for their own moral decisions and actions do not grow or learn from their poor decisions and are doomed to repeat them. This is why you continue to habitually cheat.
does she or her kids come first?
did dhe want you to work less but not at the loss of $$$?
Please never let anyone tell u this was at all ur fault! This is her fault. Of course where a marriage is in trouble 2 people are at fault and both have to fix things. But SHE choose to cheat instead of talking about it.
if she wants to work on the relationship and accept that the infidelity choice is 100% hers, you can work on the relationship issues in which you have a % of responsibility
You should start focussing on urself and stop asking the question what "was wrong with me" cause you won't get an answer and there is no answer even if you were not giving her enough attention it should never be an excuse to cheat instead of talking about it. So you won't find a satisfying answer ever to that question. I find couples counseling online and in real very helpful to get good conversations between my CS and me it helps us to listen to each other and talk about our issues and unhappiness. If you want to try fixing things and like I said she's all in may be look at the site www.affairrecovery.com it is helping us a lot. Good luck
