I agree with daledge! You can't make up the crazy stuff that happens and I work at a psych hospital.
I even got a little out of shape watching an old movie, Casablanca. I have seen it before and never thought much about it, however after my ex's affair and divorce, the movie is hard for me to watch now. Yes, I realize Bogart and Bergman play characters that are in an impossible situation. (not like the SOA example) but it still pushed my buttons.
It seems so obvious and easy to fix, then you wonder about the high statistic of marriages that have cheating. It's either not as easy as it seems, or people (CS)really don't take marriage seriously.
I am writing a screenplay from some of the material of my life and career. Reality is better than fiction. Ask any writer, and he/she will usually say the best material comes from life.
That could be part of the therapy. Write your story. I'd use the third person so you can treat yourself as another person and try to objectify the situation.
