I had panic attacks, nightmares every night, I would even cry in my sleep.
I was fearful of leaving home, of driving. I would walk the dog, but otherwise I was too scared to leave the house. It was horrible. I was a real basket case!
Things do get better. Although I do wonder what would have become of me if my H chose the slut over me. . . .

However, it is highly traumatic in every case and the effects are intense and will likely last a lifetime to a much lesser degree hopefully.
Certainly it can cause PTSD like symptoms as many require medications to reduce their anxiety and suicide/homicide are unfortunately consequences for the most unstable few.
Anxiety, panic attacks, new "issues" - I could not drive on a highway for almost a year (weird huh) because i would get overwhelmed with fear, sleep problems, severe triggering etc.
The important thing is that we get the help we need no matter the label.
