Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
For example, when we first started going to couples therapy, the counselor was convinced I was obsessive compulsive due to the symptoms I was experiencing from the affair. As it turns out, my wife's affair caused a serious aggravation of PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder - aka "shell shock") that I have suffered from for many years due serious and sometimes life-threatening physical and emotional abuse I suffered as a child and teenager.
Now I am dealing with that in individual therapy, and after just a few sessions, it is amazing how much better I am starting to feel about myself.

I had read something in one of my classes many, many years ago and remember thinking, 'Man, that sounds like my H...' I swept it under the rug at the time.

The ex's father was one, my ex is one and our daughter is in the beginning stages. Following in her father's footsteps. YOu either acept how they are or get the hell out of their way. I got out of his way and he is still trying to cause me harm financially.
Google Narcissism or Sam Vaknin. He has written a very easy to read question and answer book on the subject. It nailed my ex. I finally have an instrucion manual on the ex. How he thinks, how he gets revenge for the slights he feels he gets. All 592 pages are dog eared, underlined and highlighted. He is one of the non violent types. He gets his revenge by stabbing you in the back only if he thinks it won't come back on him. Will put into place plans that might take months to hurt someone.
THe people at work think he's so nice. If they only knew what he is really like.
A very dear friend on DS referred me to this site along with an awesome book.

I hope not as it's been posted that it's incurable.
So, unlike many other treatable personality disorders, I AM STUCK WITH IT FOR LIFE.
SIGH, now in addition to feeling victimized by my WW's affair, I can reflect with guilt as well.
