I had plenty of opportunities when I was married to do this or that but I felt as if I had an true obligation to my marriage and family (my boys) to not go into the dark side of things.
That the family was way more important than some chick and some chick would just complicate things then they already were in my life and that that person would take time away from my family and boys. I get more gratification being with the family then with someone else.
I too started to hold up resentment for my ex for a lot of things I felt she wasnt doing and taking advantage of but I would look at my parents and say my Dad or mom for that matter never did this or grandparents, then why should I I have no right to be that selfish and they helped to set my morals and values. I figured when I got married that was it my life is now spent trying to achieve in other ways.
I also put off a vibe of in general of I am here to get xyz done or if I am trying to get from point A to point B - I am walking to this place dont mess with me. I know I put off a vibe of dont bother me when out and about.
Even if the opportunity came into my lap I would be like what the heck do you want from me. Why are you approaching me what do you want from me. How may I not help you.
Now its not to say I wont look at the menu but I wont order from it.
But I think there is a difference and I know its more unique per person but what is that huge line that is crossed for some sort of satisfaction (or whatever complicated psychological reason) that I would think people would have all urges in their mind and body to tell them this is wrong unless they can justify and point to hey my parents did this or hey I can justify destroying a marriage or family there normally is that one thing in their mind they can point to to say this is okish.
There has to be that justification in their mind because morally, most people would just call it quits or go into therapy or counseling or give it more tries, work on communication work hard on pleasing their spouse try different approaches or different levels of communication and would have the depth and intelligence level to know the grass is not greener on the other side. One would hope so at least.
I see so many divorced people though now its all so stupid to me. Makes me think were these people just using people to begin with another check box they needed to check. Yep I got married check, yep I had kids check. Yes - I cheated am a awesome cheater, check.

I know this is not directed at me personally, but I would like to point out that I did "go into therapy orcounselingor give it more tries, work oncommunicationwork hard on pleasing their spouse try different approaches or different levels ofcommunication". All that I didn't do was call it quits. I should have but, damn, no one will tell me that I didn't try, for years and in every way conceivable, before I weakened and fucked up.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
