So, I've been looking for work ... not easy. I've been a housewife for a while and when I go on interviews the person interviewing me always asks about "the gap" in my resume (3 years).
Now, I've gained two degrees during this "gap" and raised a couple of kids. I left the workforce as a professional and am now looking for anything, including McD's.
Any suggestions?

What are your degrees in? Does your resume state that you took time off to earn your degrees while raising your children? Do you have someone to watch your children while you;re working? Have you or can you apply for food stamps or any other kind of social help?
Can you ask your former employee(s) for a letter of recommendation & attach that to your resume?
This is a really bad time for job hunting, but maybe a temp agency or a local unemployment office will havee some listings (I'm sure you've tried looking thru the papers & monster.com),
And, what does your lawyer say about child & daycare support, or some kind of spousal help or support until you get back on your feet?
