...of my trip to Grand Cayman this February. It was a business trip, but I was taking my wife with me. She ended up not going because her grandmother (94) was in the hospital without much time left.

Thinking of that trip is actually very painful. I didn't want to go (and told my wife that) but had to do business planning with the CEO, and was afraid that it would affect my job if I didn't. I took lots of pictures while I was there and sent them to my wife daily, because I wanted her to feel like we were together even though I was 1,500 miles away.

It turns out she spent every evening on the phone with the OM because "he was there for her, and I wasn't." It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, and yet in my mind, it is just ugly.

Thanks. I hoped that maybe sharing these instead of letting them collect dust might help a bit. Not sure... I saw some really amazing things (eg. rode horseback to the top of an active volcano in the philippines) that I never thought I would see in my life, and most days I just want to erase every one of those memories.

Funny,I was just thinking about something similiar this afternoon!I was just thinking that Thanksgiving and Christmas will soon be here but I dread it because it was around this ime that was D-Day for me!I ws just thinking how he has ruined how I view Thanksgiving,Christmas and a couple of other holidays.It will never be the same-ever!And I was thinking how unfair it is.I loved those holidays because it was about family and about sharing!And now all of the innocence of it has been torn away from me and it hurts!

Yes :( I am not looking forward to holidays at all. Her affair started right after thanksgiving, and continued through Christmas, my birthday, valentine's day, fourth of july, etc.

Can totally relate to being somewhere nice and now not being able to appreciate it at all. We finally went ahead and spent alot of money on our family vacation. We went to Hawaii. Turns out my husband was already having an emotional affair with a coworker and found out that the day before the trip they spoke for almost an hour discussing Hawaii. The first he he did when we landed was take a picture like they had discussed. To top it off, he was so mean to us during the trip. Very disconnected. Probably emailed her on my computer. Now I have no plans of ever going back. Don't even want to look at our pictures. Erased all of the ones with just the two of us. Would have erased all but don't want kids memories to be erased as well.

We went away together in the summer for a few days without our children. I thought it was really wonderful. We had romantic meals and early nights..turns out that he was texting her and talking about meeting up with her as soon as we got back when ever my back was turned. I found their Facebook messages when he asked me to change his Email password for him.I still cant believe it!

Mauszer--Geez! Maybe my husband was with your wife! His a started right after thanksgiving and lasted til july. i found out in september, so i completely understand.

believe it or not, it does get easier. you go through phases. right now, i'm in an "indifferent" phase. all i care about is making myself happy...by searching for happiness within myself. his affair has screwed me over in the self esteem department. so i'm focused on working out right now.

he's upset with me because i'm not focusing on him...or us, for that matter. i'm giving it time.
maybe this is just a phase.
who knows....?

Hah, wouldn't that be funny (in a sad way) if it was... Your husband doesn't happen to be a one-eyed frenchman from montreal would he (if you say yes, I will feel really bad actually). I am kind of reaching that indifferent phase too... I have to survive this, or I am no good for anyone. The depression has been terrible. Just trying to give it time.
