I agree with Mommy. If it were me, and I was the spouse that betrayed my H, and he brought this question to the forefront. I would be thrilled to open up the work inbox to prove my loyalty and committment to my spouse. I would jump at the opportunity to show my H that see, I'm really seriously about this.... see, look for yourself. Now, if I had something to hide, I would say as little as possible. Which is sorta what he did. I'd be concerned. Given the situation--how can one not expect the other to be concerned and ask questions, accordingly??

Ummm, hell yeah he's hiding something!! He thought "work" was a safe place for him to hide and you just busted that wide open... Now, he's squirming.... and deleting as many emails from OW as quickly as possible...

I agree...my husband still won't let me see anything on his cellphone so I wonder there all the time. He also has several different email accounts. It makes me crazy. They are definitely guilty of something when they have to have privacy. There's no need for privacy or anything separate in a marriage...or at least there shouldn't be.

I cant even count the times I have looked at my H ans simply said, thats a yes or no question. Just say what is on your mind for once. You havent been honest to this point. shy not give it a try this time.....

I am in the same boat. My OH is back at work and the OW works down the hall. Sadly I DO think he is having contact. He swears he is not. I ask any question and he deflects it to be about his gambling recovery..
We are apart right now though. For you IF he is wanting to make this work he must expect these questions.

Have to agree with everyone...it raises red flags! A simple "yes" would have your heart singing...it's when they dance around a question and dodge giving an answer...........THAT'S our answer.

Like Mommy posted...I would definitel be curious and I agree...he's probably doing some deleting now.

Dont ask him what his reaction would be IF you asked to see his work email. Instead, ask him to OPEN his work email.

Wow, reminded me of conversing with my EX. Not just on BIG issues, but on little ones too. He never would answer anything directly.

He was the 'King of Dodge.'

'Hey, how much was your check? I have to cover x,y, and z....'

'I put 'this much' in checking.'

Ahhh yes....so, in short time, I learned that the particular answer YOU got in this situation, 'I had never thought of that,' just meant 'MAN, AM I SCREWED HERE AND HAVE TO THINK FAST!!!!' He's buying some time until you come back and ask again - so he'll have his tracks covered by that time.

Thanks for all the responses. I think that I knew that night that he is still hidding something from me. That night has really changed my thinking and I am more now than before thinking of a seperation . It is driving me absolutley crazy always thinking what else hasn't he told me. So, I am now in the thinking process of preparing for seperation.

I had hopes of reconciling with my ex and getting past his infidelity until I asked him to see his cell phone records and he said "let me think about it". I knew at that moment that either he was not willing to help me get past it with openness and honesty or he had something to hide. Either way....
