Wow, reminded me of conversing with my EX. Not just on BIG issues, but on little ones too. He never would answer anything directly.

Ahhh yes....so, in short time, I learned that the particular answer YOU got in this situation, 'I had never thought of that,' just meant 'MAN, AM I SCREWED HERE AND HAVE TO THINK FAST!!!!' He's buying some time until you come back and ask again - so he'll have his tracks covered by that time.
