Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
You're right, I'm not letting go. Overall, he is a great guy but he's done some pretty terrible things to me and I cannot stand the lies. I'm not sure i can let go if I stay with him.
I completely understand your curiosity in finding out locations and details about your husband's infidelity. For me the more details I received the more follow up questions I always seemed to have. The end result was now I find myself haunted by thoughts of my wife's affair when I drive by certain hotel chains, restaurants, and even anniversary dates of their hookups. Had I never asked for those specifics, I think I would have fewer triggers. Finding out this information never satisfied anything. Yes, my wife slept with another man (while married to me) She admitted to that, told me his name, I knew he was someone she worked with, how long they were together, was the sex unprotected or protected, etc. That was all the detail I really needed to know. All the rest, just causes me to feel the sting of the betrayal all over again.
Thank you. I think this question has been haunting me because, In the beginning, I asked were and the response was a vague, down back roads, in corn fields. We live in the middle of no where. So, even leaving the house, going to the nearest town was a trigger. I wanted to know specifically so I could avoid those places and not look at the field by my house and wonder and feel triggered. I shouldn't have asked in the beginning. But, I sadly did, not knowing the termoil I would be putting myself through. It sucks.
I also asked alot of questions in the beginning because, the ow stalked me and showed up everywhere I went. In my mind, I was going to have to defend myself, defend what was left of our relationship, to her. And if there was something that she knew and I did not, in my mind, i would've been even more humiliated. She did try to get me to hang out with her and I'm sure it was some sort of ploy to get me to leave him so she could go back to him. But, I couldn't emotionally ever handle talking to her or seeing her.
