Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
I for starters would stop saying you "love" your girlfriend. Look up the definition of love and wgat love means. If you live someone you don't hurt that person and you don't put it own selfish needs ahead of theirs.
What ur doung is selfish immature, shows a lack of boundaries morals and empathy. Not attractive at all.
U say " you can't help it" well just know that wgat you have done and are still doing is completely crushing ur girlfriends self esteem her self worth her trust in any man and her future. Well let's hope ur selfish needs ate worth that high of a price to pay.
If u truly came here to get help. First of all yes you have a problem and admit that to urself. Then get STD tested and make sure ur girlfriend does.
Go get therapy cause you need it weather it is to change urself for ur current relationship or to prevent this behaviour in the future relationship.
Finally set ur girlfriend free if you can't change and commit urself you DON'T DESERVE HER. She deserves a man she can trust a man she can rely on a man that puts her needs first.
Get professional help. In addition there is such a thing as sex addiction. They have meetings like AA. It will be people struggling with issues like these (the physical and emotional).
Do some research, from creditable sources not teen magazine.
Be honest with yourself or you have no hope of being honest with another person.
I agree, you don't knowingly and perpetually hurt someone you love. Is it also a high earning her trust back? This is selfish and sadistic. Is it your way of feeling in control or quelling some fear of being alone? Do you need more attention then she provides? Do you have any close friendships?
You don't deserve a faithful partner when you can't hold up your end of the deal. You are being emotionally abusive. If things are physical between you and her, and or you and them you are putting yourself and your gf in very real physical danger.
Get some help now, before you've burnt all your bridges and end up broken and alone.
you love her but its so not easy to stop
poor you
honestly you've done a great job just keeping it in check
poor poor you
.... change all letters r to letter h
that is exactly who you be
What you are after in life is narcissistic supply. You don't care who you hurt to get it, they are just objects to achieve an ongoing supply at whatever the cost to them.
As such, there is no possibility that you love your GF. In your current state you can't love anyone but yourself. You will need counseling to get to the root of your issues.
But the reason I chose to write on this board versus the board of all cheaters is because i am not the type of person that would benefit from a bunch of people being sympathetic to each other. cheating and cheaters are horrible so being here, getting beat with real unapologetic honest is better for me. i dont want to be coddled. so thank you guys for your harsh, real, helpful words.
@forwardmotion yea I agree with you. In my attempt to figure out why something soo seemingly easy to stop doing has been surprisingly difficult, I have thought the exact same thing. I do know that I love my girl friend because I feel guilt. I think that if i didn't feel any remorse after the fact than i would just be a complete lost cause. but the fact that i desire to change, and desire to get, and for the life of me want to do better by my girl friend shows that i do, at least love her. my actions flirting, of course, do prove otherwise. but i started thinking of counseling because there may be some underlying issue that i face but cannot exactly figure it out on my own. from my childhood, the only other factor that i can think of is coming from a home where my father always had other women around him and has admitted to cheating on my mother. my parents divorced and even in his new marriage he still has issues with infidelity. i remember how he used to hurt my mom and the scariest part is that i have begun going down the same path doing that to my girl friend.
so thoughtful
you are manipulative pussy
In any sense you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned that your actions showed otherwise in terms of love. Therefore, by your own words, what you equate love to be is not really love.
You may desire your girlfriend and you may have attachment to her as well, but that doesn't mean you treat her as a person who should be cherished but rather an object for which you obtain happiness/pleasure.
People "love" their new cars until it gets scratched a bit and the new car smell is gone. After a few years you don't think the same about that car and want a new one. This is not a big deal because it is just an object with no inherent worth or feelings.
So maybe you "love" as an object, but your actions show you don't love/respect her as a person.
Like said above you do not love your girlfriend. Because it's so simple if you live someone you don't hurt it. Most cheaters confuse the word live with entitlement and desire. Learn what love truly is and act like it.
Stop trying to find excuses as to why you can't stop cheating. Own up to it. Look ur girlfriend in the eye and see her pain. Sit down with ur mom and ask about her pain. You need to learn empathy and trying to understand the pain cheating causes would be a good start.
Right now ur still poison to ur girlfriend. Let her go get therapy change urself for future relationships.
Heartache has a good point .... if you do open up and see (and listen) to how your girlfriend and your mother feel having been treated this way. I can tell you from experience, (being fwb a few times), it kills your self worth when you come to believe you are good enough for convenience (whether it is so you are not alone, or to take care of you and your home,, or for sex when you want)
But it does kill us inside thinking we are only good enough til something (or someone) better come along.
I think counseling would help. Then you may learn that if you do truly love someone you open your heart and soul and share with them. Maybe you are afraid that SHE is still searching for another too? (Your behavior has kind of given her a reason to) Explain why and where this is coming from.......but you both need to decide if this is fixable and what you want. Good luck.
