And yes... my stbx/CS is definitely emotionally abusive/manipulative. It's like this article was written about HIM. Especially the part about how they change the emotional climate. My kids would be perfectly happy, but as soon as he walked through the door, instant anxiety and upset. Every day my 7-year-old daughter would cry and say, "I can just never be happy!"
Since I've left him, she doesn't say that anymore. Yes, she misses her daddy sometimes, but for the most part she is much happier, and I am too.
